Kate and her brutish boyfriend Big Al sell handguns on the streets of New York. Shes smart, stylish, and self-confident, but all that leaves her when Al, in a jealous and self-indulgent rage, beats her. Three friends encourage her recovery: Vic, a woman who would like to be Kates lover; Reilly, who runs with Al but also is attracted to Kate and repulsed by Als violence; and, Liz, the counselor assigned to Kate from a battered-womens program. Vic and Reilly talk about killing Al, Liz gives pep talks; Kate remains frightened. Will Als menace and Kates dependency hold sway?

In a dangerous neighborhood in New York City, Kat and her brutal smalltime criminal boyfriend Big Al sell pistols and revolvers on the streets and deal stolen goods. Kat is addicted in having sex with Al and dreams on moving to the beach and start a new life. When the jealous and abusive Al beats her, the social assistant Liz, Kats bisexual friend Vic and her acquaintance Reilly that has a crush on her advise Kat to leave Al. However, Al threatens to destroy her face if she dares to leave him. The smart Kat uses her power of beautiful and sexy woman to manipulate her friends and get rid off Al.
