Story: A holiday wedding brings no joy to the brides cousin, who was literally left by the groom right at the altar. But she might find her true love there when she gains a fake fiancé in the process.

Aspiring interior designer Layla OReilly is dreading the Christmastime wedding of her cousin who is marrying Laylas ex-fiancé. Although Seth Murphy is the one responsible for introducing the bride and groom, she begrudgingly accepts his offer to be her date as shes out of options. Seth gets carried away at the reception and announces theyre engaged, forcing a mortified Layla to keep up the pretense. But as the faux couple spends more time together they find themselves feeling something very real.

Seth Murphy (Daniel Lissing) is an old friend of Layla OReillys (Jessica Lowndes) and they reunite at a party. Seth introduces Laylas cousin to Laylas fiancé, but they end up having feelings for each other. A few years later, Seth and Layla run into each other. Seth asks Layla if she would be his date to the wedding and, after awhile convinces Layla to say yes. At the reception, Seth and Layla had an idea to be a fake couple. Seth, however, takes it too far and says theyre engaged. Layla gets angry. Later, Layla finds out the Stanley Malcolm sold Seth his house and is being used for the holiday tour of homes. Seth hires Layla to decorate it and they grew closer and closer as the tour date arrived. They each grow feelings for each other after that and, during an engagement surprise party their families throw for them, something happens for the better.
