Ed convinces his best friend Paul that he should fool around with other women in order to preserve his happy marriage. Ed illustrates his point with a series of vignettes acted out by a lot of famous celebrities. The joke of it all is that Paul is married to lovely Ruth.
Irrespective of being in a generally happy, loving and committed marriage to beautiful and faithful Ruth Manning, investment counselor Paul Manning can now only see a world full of nubile other young women ripe for the sexual taking. If he does venture into the world of infidelity, he will be six and half years behind his best friend, lawyer Ed Stander, who for that length of time has been cheating on his equally beautiful, faithful and unsuspecting wife, Harriet Stander. Ed attributes his cheating to strengthening his relationship with Harriet, the key to it all in not getting caught. As such, Ed mentors Paul, the advice on all aspects of cheating, including who, or at least what type would be the appropriate cheatee with Paul in that end goal of being undiscovered by Ruth. Interspersed with Eds advice are vignettes from "technical advisers" demonstrating what he is trying to convey.
