Story: The railroad hires a condemned killer to murder an uncooperative rancher but the assassin fails to deliver, prompting the railroad men to go after him instead.

Condemned gunman Clayton is given a last-minute reprieve on condition that he murders rancher Matthew for a railway company. He visits Matthews ranch but is unable to kill him and leaves, but Matthews wife Catherine believes she has killed him during an argument and joins Clayton. Matthew, still alive and mad as hell, joins Claytons equally-angered employers to hunt down the pair.
