Story: The story of how Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel started Las Vegas.

New York gangster Ben takes a brief business trip to Los Angeles. A sharp-dressing womaniser with a foul temper, Siegel doesnt hesitate to kill or maim anyone crossing him. In L.A. the life, the movies, and most of all strong-willed detain him while his family wait back home. Then a trip to a run-down gambling joint at a spot in the desert known as Las Vegas gives him his big idea.

New York mobster Benjamin leaves New York City to dip into the glamour of Hollywood, Calif., and to build up syndicate gambling rackets. Bowled over by actress , the dapper Siegel courts her, despite having a wife and children. Obsessed with creating a gambling haven, Siegel takes racketeering to the Nevada desert and helps develop Las Vegas, only to find himself in deep water over his reckless construction of the Flamingo Hotel.
