Story: In a dark future where the Androids have taken over Earth, Gohan and his student Trunks are the last defense against these deadly killing machines.

This TV Movie tells the story of "Future" Trunks; that is, the Trunks from the alternate future where Goku has died and Androids terrorize the Earth. Amongst other things, it shows how Gohan trained Trunks, their fights with the Androids, and what inspired Trunks to go time traveling.

Goku has died of a heart virus, leaving his friends and loved ones behind, but it was a foreshadowing of the horrific events to come. Six months later, a bloodthirsty duo attacked the city, and all the Z Warriors (Piccolo, Vegeta, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaozu, Krillin, and Yajirobe) were killed. The only ones capable of fighting these mechanical demons are Gohan and the son of Bulma and Vegeta, Trunks. This is the story of the two warriors of the dark future.
