Story: A young man in the jungles of Venezuela meets a strange girl of the forest and falls in love with her.

A young Venezuelan idealist flees his native land to escape a revolution. Hoping to find peace, he goes to the mountains and the forests of the Amazon. There he encounters Rima, the Bird Girl, an orphan living a life of nature. It is all an admirable romance telling a tale of "quest, love, and violence."

Abel, son of a murdered government official escapes into the Venezuelan interior bent on revenge. Beyond the jungle in a dense forest, Abel finds an ethereal, innocent girl who has bonded completely with nature, although raised solely by her mysterious grandfather. Eventually, Abel must try and save the girl from her grandfathers duplicity and the superstitions of menacing natives while coming to terms with his own beliefs.
