Story: A look at a few chapters in the life of Poppy, a cheery, colorful, North London schoolteacher whose optimism tends to exasperate those around her.

Poppy Cross is happy-go-lucky. At 30, she lives in Camden: cheeky, playful, frank, funny, and talkative to strangers. Shes a conscientious and exuberant primary-school teacher, flatmates with her long-time friend Zoe, shes close to one sister and not so close to another. In this slice-of-life story, she takes driving lessons from Scott, a dour and tightly-wound instructor; takes classes in flamenco dance from a fiery Spaniard; encounters a tramp in the night; and sorts out a students aggressive behavior with a social workers help. Does her open attitude puts her at risk of misunderstanding or worse? What is the root of happiness?

Poppy Cross is a 30-year-old London elementary-school teacher who is not averse to having a good time. She brings into almost any situation an outward happy-go-lucky attitude and behavior, both to place others at ease and to get others to like her. She can, however, deal with serious situations when the need arises. While some including her closest friends such as her roommate and fellow teacher Zoe naturally gravitate to her because of her personality, others are eventually disarmed by her while others want to get away from her as fast as they can. To some extent, Scott, her driving instructor who is a perpetual outsider in life, falls into that latter category, not appreciating her flippant attitude, which can be dangerous in the serious matter of driving. Poppy will discover that her bubbly personality has unintended effects, especially with Scott.
