San Francisco heiress Page Forrester is brutally murdered in her remote beach house. Her husband Jack is devastated by the crime but soon finds himself accused of her murder. He hires lawyer Teddy Barnes to defend him, despite the fact she hasnt handled a criminal case for many years. Theres a certain chemistry between them and Teddy soon finds herself defending the man she loves.

An ex criminal prosecutor reluctantly defends a man accused of killing his wealthy wife. At first the lawyer takes it upon herself to confront the present public prosecutor and redeem herself for her past wrongdoings but slowly she starts doubting her clients character when new things are revealed during the trial. She is aided in her defense by a mysterious person who keeps sending her notes.
