Young lawyer meets and marries girl after knowing her one day. Takes bride home to meet his mother who disapproves of the marriage. Lawyer thinks everything will be fine as he moves up the ladder of the law firm. He doesnt and things get tough. A baby makes things even tougher.

John Mason, a somewhat timid attorney struggling to make a name for himself in bustling New York City, has a chance encounter with beautiful Jane during a business trip, and as one thing leads to another, they fall in love and marry the next day. To put it differently, optimistic Jane believes in John and is convinced that everything will work out in the end, provided that her meek husband stands up for himself. However, cruel fate has other plans in store for the young couple, and as serious problems start piling up, tragedy strikes. Now, John has to swallow his pride to save everything he holds dear.
