An alien being with the power of invisibility lands in Santa Monica. Killing two people who attacked him due to the menacing appearance of his spacesuit, the creature takes it off while being pursued by government authorities.

Investigators are sent to the San Fernando Valley after receiving reports of a flying saucer crash, with the occupant appearing to be a man dressed in a bizarre radioactive outfit, but who is invisible without his spacesuit. Laboratory staff at a Los Angeles observatory try to track down the alien in an attempt to communicate with him.
