A young Catholic priest, Father Greg Pilkington, joins an inner-city parish. In confession a teenage girl reveals how her father is molesting her, leaving Father Pilkington in a quandary. Equally vexing to the priest is his own sexual orientation.

Father Greg Pilkington () is torn between his call as a conservative Catholic priest and his secret life as a homosexual with a gay lover, frowned upon by the Church.
