Story: Two women who grew up together discover they have drifted apart when they retreat to a lake house together.

Two women go away together. One meets a man that distracts her from being there for her friend. The betrayed friend says, "One day you will need me, and then I wont be there for you." When they next go away together the roles are reversed, the threat becomes reality. But the two situations are not exactly the same - the man in the first scenario was benign, the man in the second scenario is toxic. That and other differences displace the parallel between the two events.

Just like last year, a once-happy Catherine comes to stay at the secluded lake house of her best friend, Virginia; only, this time, she has come to spend a weekend of healing self-imposed banishment. But, after two pivotal events in her life, a devastated Catherine senses that her friendship with Virginia is starting to wane; moreover, the roles are now reversed. More and more, the two women find themselves consumed by a sinister undercurrent of deep resentment and total contempt, and whats even more disheartening, theres no telling how this vacation will end. Is this the end of yet another relationship?
