Story: In 1944 a group of women in an isolated Welsh village wake up to discover all of the their husbands have mysteriously vanished.

In 1944, the D-Day for the invasion of Normandy by the Allies has failed and Europe has not been released from the German forces. The men of an isolated Welsh village disappear and their wives believe that they have joined the resistance and soon German soldiers arrive at the village. The farmer Sarah Lewis and the German Commander Albrecht befriend to each other along the year.

Set in an alternative 1944 where Russia has fallen to Nazi Germany and the D-Day landings have failed, Britain is now half-occupied by German forces. The women in an isolated Welsh border valley awakes one morning to discover all their husbands have mysteriously disappeared.
