Story: A surprisingly resourceful housewife vows revenge on her husband when he begins an affair with a wealthy romance novelist.

Ruth is a wife and mother who tries to please her husband (Bob) but finds him pulling away and spending more time at the office than at home. When he begins an affair with a famous romance novelist (Mary) and leaves Ruth to raise their kids, she decides shes had enough of playing nice docile housewife. Ruth endeavors to show Bob and Mary the truth about themselves and each other, while creating a new successful life of her own.

The clumsy and overweight housewife Ruth Patchett is married with two children with the ambitious accountant Bob Patchett. She loves and tries to please Bob all the time, but when Bob meets the successful novelist Mary Fisher in a party, they begin a love affair. Ruth overlooks the affair, but when Bobs parents visit them to have dinner, she confronts her husband in front of his family. Bob decides to leave Ruth and tells that his assets are his home, his family, his career and his freedom. Ruth has breakdown and promises revenge on Bob, destroying his assets.
