Story: A young girl institutionalized by her abusive stepfather retreats to an alternative reality as a coping strategy and envisions a plan to help her escape.

A young girl, Babydoll, is locked away in a mental asylum by her abusive stepfather, where she will undergo a lobotomy in five days time. Faced with unimaginable odds, she retreats to a fantastical world in her imagination where she and four other female asylum inmates plot to escape the facility. The line between reality and fantasy blurs as Babydoll and the others, plus a mysterious guide, fight to retrieve the five items that will let them break free from their captors in time.

In the 1960s a young woman nicknamed Baby doll accidentally kills her sister when she fires a handgun intending to hit their stepfather. She is framed as mentally unstable by her stepfather and institutionalized at the fictional Lennox House for the Mentally Insane in Brattleboro, Vermont. He bribes asylum orderly Blue Jones to forge the signature of the asylums psychiatrist, Vera Gorski, to have Baby doll lobotomized so she cannot inform authorities of the truth. During her admission to the institution, Baby doll takes note of four items that she would need to attempt an escape.
