Story: A Hollywood screenwriter takes in a runaway girl whos more woman than he can handle.

Mark Christopher is a 35-year old, award-winning comedy scriptwriter who is struggling to be taken seriously as a drama writer. On Christmas Eve, two police officers bring 17-year old Susan (picked up for vagrancy and brawling) to Marks apartment. If she spends a few days with him, Mark could use Susan as inspiration to write a script about juvenile-delinquents and Susan could avoid spending Christmas behind bars.

Screenwriter Mark Christopher gets a Christmas present that isnt on his Santa list: a 17-year-old delinquent named Susan, deposited in his bachelor pad by a cop pal who doesnt want to see the kid spend Christmas behind bars. Touched by Susans plight, Mark decides theres only one way to keep her out of juvie: marry her in name only and get an annulment when she comes of age. But after a Vegas elopement, Susan isnt so sure she wants to be the ex-Mrs. Christopher. (in his last film role before devoting himself to a hugely successful TV career) and play the (maybe) mismatched couple in a big-hearted romantic comedy from animator-turned-director that makes merry use of its Yuletide setting.
