A peace-loving soldier from Ancient China is magically transported into a world ruled by an evil nine-headed snake. Transformed into a panda, he joins forces with a flying pig to free the once-peaceful Merryland from tyranny. But first he must train to be the kingdoms most courageous panda warrior.

Jinbao, a peace-loving soldier during Chinas Warring States period, falls into an abyss while fleeing an ambush of his battle camp. He is magically transported into a parallel dimension called Merryland, a peaceful kingdom that his grandfather had once told him legends about. But when he arrives, he finds himself in the body of a panda. The first citizen he meets is Pig Skywalker, a flying farm animal, who at first mistakes Jinbao for the legendary Panda Warrior who had once saved the kingdom. Jinbao learns that the once-peaceful kingdom is now under the command of Evil Master -- a giant, nine-headed snake who controls the minds of most of the animals in the land. Whats more, Evil Master is holding the beautiful Dragon Princess hostage. Jinbao teams up with Skywalkers warrior friends -- including a fierce praying mantis, a dog skilled in the art of the nunchaku, and a chicken with a formidable metal beak -- so as to rescue the princess and free the land from tyranny and war. But first, he must train under King Lion to become the lands most formidable warrior and also find the inner courage within himself to become the bravest panda.
