Story: On Christmas Eve 1933, the Waltons prepare for the holiday. However, John Walton, who was forced to take work in another part of the state, has not returned home yet, and his family are becoming increasingly worried.

The Waltons are about to celebrate another Christmas. Its during the 30s and the Depression. John promised to be home soon but seems to be late. John Boy tells his siblings about Christmas and all that stuff. When John hasnt showed for hours, Olivia sends John Boy out to find him. Will he ever get home to celebrate Christmas with his family?

The Waltons are preparing for Christmas in the early 1930s. Its Christmas Eve and they are waiting for John to come home from his job in the city some 50 miles away. Since he is late, everyone is worried and over the radio Olivia, Zebb, and Esther hear about an overturned bus and hurt travelers but keep this news from the rest of the family. The story is really a coming of age story about John Boy who must cut down the tree with Zebb since John isnt home and is eventually told about him and sets out to find him.
