Story: An upper-class Manhattan divorcee comes to believe that her brother is possessed by the spirit of a serial killer who beheaded young women in Spanish Harlem.

Norah Benson (Shirley MacLaine), an affluent socialite living in Manhattans Upper East Side, seems to be living the perfect life as a divorced mother of two. After her mothers suicide, she becomes a mother figure to her younger brother, Joel Delaney (Perry King). However, Joel begins to begin to act strangely. He tries to attack a man and is taken to a mental asylum. He loses his free-spirited kindness in exchange for a turbulent personality. After the twin shields of her affluence and naiveté have been broken down, Norah seeks the help of a spiritualist to attempt to exorcise the spirit of a murderer they believe to be possessing Joel. But Joel turns on Norah and threatens her life and those of her children.

Obsessively concerned with the well-being of her younger brother Joel, recently divorced mother-of-two Norah Benson is in for a shock when the police escort him to a psychiatric institution. Baffled by unstable Joels increasingly erratic and violent behaviour, desperate Norah tries to shed light on this mystery, only to realise shes bitten off more than she can chew. Now, as a madman sheds innocent blood, Norah finds herself like a fish out of water in Spanish Harlem, following a faint trail of clues that lead straight into the tight-knit Puerto Rican Santería community. And, somehow, exorcism seems like the only solution. But is Joel Delaney genuinely possessed?
