Episode Info: When a coal mine collapses, Dr. Brown, along with Edna, Linda, and Harold, rush to the scene to assist their neighbors. One miner is Will Cleveland, a jazz pianist who has recently become Ephrams mentor; another is Abbotts next door neighbor, whose outrageous building plans Harold has tried to thwart; and the third Andys patient Ellie Beels, who has been trying to conceive a baby. All three doctors utilize their special skills under terrible conditions, but it is Andy who must confront his biggest fears in order to save lives.

Story: A widowed brain surgeon from Manhattan moves his two children to the small mountain town of Everwood, Colorado.

When Manhattan surgeon Andrew Andy Brown is widowed, he decides to start a whole new life in the idyllic Colorado town Everwood, but gets more than he bargained for - it takes an eternity for a city-boy to fit in the small community, which already had a popular physician, and its even worse for his unearthed kids, whom he must now parent alone: Ephram, a sensitive kid and gifted pianist, and his little sister Delia. As they all get to know Everwood people and each other better, relationships develop and change.
