Episode Info: Mildred is taking driving lessons from an elderly neighbour, but wanting to keep it secret from George she tells him shes going to Keep Fit classes. When Ann accidentally lets slip that the classes have finished, George suspects Mildred of having an affair; on Jeffreys advice he tries to be more romantic with her. A misunderstanding arises when the supposed lover comes to the Ropers house but all is resolved as Mildred passes her test. Meanwhile, Jeffrey must take over a poorly Tristrams paper round.

Story: George and Mildred Roper are forced to leave their home in South Kensington (as the landlords in Man About the House (1973)) when they receive a compulsory purchase order from the council. Mildred talks George into buying a nice middle-class house in suburbia, and they move next door to Jeffrey and Ann Fourmile. Unfortunately, Mildreds dream of upward mobility seems doomed to failure, as George relentlessly embarrasses her in every way possible. Poor Mildred not only has to cope with Georges gormless behavior, she has to try and deal with the the snobbish Jeffrey as well as her rich-bitch sister Ethel and mad old mum. —Roseanne Hodge <rosie@ihug.co.nz> .
