Episode Info: In Oahu State Prison, cons led by Big Chicken want to bring Swanson to heel because he doesnt show enough respect for "the system." But Swanson manages to shoot one of his attackers with guns the cons had smuggled into the prison. Swanson gathers up prison guards as hostages to try to get out of the prison. Swanson says if hes not let out, hell start killing the hostages. McGarrett offers himself up as a hostage to try to head off bloodshed.

Story: The investigations of Hawaii Five-0, an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police answerable only to the governor and headed by stalwart Steve McGarrett.

Five-0 was a special state police unit answering only to the Governor of Hawaii. It worked with Honolulu police to fight the underworld in the island state. Sooner or later virtually all the bad guys heard Steve McGarrett grunt "Book em, Danno!" though chief bad guy Wo Fat was caught after MacArthur left the series.

Although based in Downtown Honolulu in the Iolani Palace, the men of Hawaii Five-0 are members of the Hawaii State Police, and are accountable to the Governor of Hawaii. Led by Steve McGarrett, its mission is to deal with "organized crime, murder, assassination attempts, foreign agents, felonies of every type".
