Episode Info: A crusading journalist is murdered, and McGarrett suspects that the killing was ordered by Frank Devlin, a sleazy real estate developer from the mainland, who was the target of a series of articles by the journalist. McGarrett focuses his attention on Richard Royce, a down-on-his-luck former astronaut who has gone to work for Devlin to help generate interest in Devlins new Hawaiian subdivision. Royce gradually comes to suspect that Devlin might just have been capable of murder -- especially when another person whose land Devlin wants also ends up dead.

Story: The investigations of Hawaii Five-0, an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police answerable only to the governor and headed by stalwart Steve McGarrett.

Five-0 was a special state police unit answering only to the Governor of Hawaii. It worked with Honolulu police to fight the underworld in the island state. Sooner or later virtually all the bad guys heard Steve McGarrett grunt "Book em, Danno!" though chief bad guy Wo Fat was caught after MacArthur left the series.

Although based in Downtown Honolulu in the Iolani Palace, the men of Hawaii Five-0 are members of the Hawaii State Police, and are accountable to the Governor of Hawaii. Led by Steve McGarrett, its mission is to deal with "organized crime, murder, assassination attempts, foreign agents, felonies of every type".
