Episode Info: A derelict sailboat is discovered just offshore of Oahu. McGarrett and a Coast Guard officer board the vessel and find the crew murdered as well as several rats, both dead and alive. However, McGarrett also notices the telltale signs of bubonic plague on several of the crew. McGarrett is put into isolation and asks Danno to find out who the passengers were. Story: The investigations of Hawaii Five-0, an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police answerable only to the governor and headed by stalwart Steve McGarrett.

Five-0 was a special state police unit answering only to the Governor of Hawaii. It worked with Honolulu police to fight the underworld in the island state. Sooner or later virtually all the bad guys heard Steve McGarrett grunt "Book em, Danno!" though chief bad guy Wo Fat was caught after MacArthur left the series.

Although based in Downtown Honolulu in the Iolani Palace, the men of Hawaii Five-0 are members of the Hawaii State Police, and are accountable to the Governor of Hawaii. Led by Steve McGarrett, its mission is to deal with "organized crime, murder, assassination attempts, foreign agents, felonies of every type".
