Episode Info: A hit man takes a shot at a man on a boat arriving in Honolulu harbor from a distance of about a half mile, using an old tower on Sand Island as his snipers nest. An apparently homeless boy named Moki, however, witnesses the hit man as he fires the shot. The hit man gives chase, but Moki escapes. McGarrett manages to locate the boy and sends him to juvenile detention for his own protection, but he does not figure on the intervention of Frances Chai, a crusading deputy public defender.

Story: The investigations of Hawaii Five-0, an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police answerable only to the governor and headed by stalwart Steve McGarrett.

Five-0 was a special state police unit answering only to the Governor of Hawaii. It worked with Honolulu police to fight the underworld in the island state. Sooner or later virtually all the bad guys heard Steve McGarrett grunt "Book em, Danno!" though chief bad guy Wo Fat was caught after MacArthur left the series.

Although based in Downtown Honolulu in the Iolani Palace, the men of Hawaii Five-0 are members of the Hawaii State Police, and are accountable to the Governor of Hawaii. Led by Steve McGarrett, its mission is to deal with "organized crime, murder, assassination attempts, foreign agents, felonies of every type".
