Episode Info: The head of an electronics firm arrives home to find his wife drowned at the bottom of their pool, just as one of his rising young associates flees the scene. It looks like an open-and-shut case to the police, but the missing mans girlfriend insists that he is innocent, and asks Mannix to find the man and assist him. Mannix reluctantly takes the case, but the mystery soon deepens as Mannix discovers that the man may have had other identities -- and secrets aplenty in his past.

Story: Mannix worked originally for Wickersham at Intertect and then struck out on his own, assisted by Peggy Fair (whose cop-husband had been killed) and Police Department contact Tobias.

Considered one of the most violent television series of its era, this show followed the adventures of Los Angeles, California private investigator Joe Mannix, who first worked for a detective agency known as Intertect, which relied heavily on computers and a large network of operatives. In the second season, Mannix opened his own agency, with police widow Peggy Fair working for him as his secretary. Each episode featured plenty of fistfights, car chases, and shoot-outs.
