Episode Info: Pullmans mother has a stroke, and this event leads Sandra to start asking questions about her father, but she ends up losing her trust in the team when she discovers they have withheld information about her father from her. The revelation that he committed suicide while under investigation for corruption causes the detective to doubt all she took for granted, but she tries to set her feelings aside when she is asked to look into the death of a circus ringmaster who burned to death in his caravan, leaving only his feet behind.

Story: Three retired police officers are drafted in to solve cold cases, with a touch of comedy and drama

After a hostage rescue goes wrong, superintendent Sandra Pullman is put in charge of unsolved crimes. With little resources and no back-up, she decides to recruit three ex-policeman. However, times have changed, unlike her new recruits. Jack Halford has yet to get over the loss of his wife, Brian Lane is over-obsessed and over-medicated, and Gerry Standing is not quite the ladies man he used to be. They might have the experience but its not like the old days. Not only are they chasing criminals, but they are dealing with a new police force which does not always appreciate their old-style policing.
