Episode Info: To pass the time while recovering from a surfing injury, Chris watches several film noir thrillers. This leads him to suspect that his physical therapist is up to something sinister. Kenny and Anson get locked in Bimbos basement.

Story: Chris plays himself as a low-key, nebbishy rock star fumbling sincerely with mundane neighborhood and bizarre rock-god situations with the help--but more often, hindrance--of his band-manager/ex-girlfriend (Kristine Dattilo). His TV band includes three of his real long-time back-ups (Hershel Yatovitz, Rolly Salley, and his droll drummer Kenney Dale Johnson. Frequent music-biz guest stars such as Trisha Yearwood and Billie Joe Armstrong play themselves and jam with sharply-dressed nice guy Chris. —David Stevens .
